 Following a meeting involving Waltham St Lawrence residents and Thames Water, please Click Here for some advice from them about what to put in the sewers and what not.
Given the long history of sewage escaping onto the Street, WSL after heavy rains, hopefully this will not be the sole outcome of those discussions.

 April brought some somewhat unexpected pomp and circumstance with the death at 87 of the remarkable Baroness Thatcher. Suddenly we older ones were confronted with time warp as the 1980’s seemed to hove back into view on our screens. This bought into perspective just how much the times have changed since those days, be that fashions, manners or culture 30 years on and into the interweb era.

 Our Children……Some of us who are getting older find it difficult to get on the same wavelength as our grandchildren, their music, their easy facility with the latest smartphones and their apps, and all that other modern stuff. However, we are at least one generation removed but all you parents have to live with the demands of growing children and teenagers testing the limits of your patience.

In a letter I received a few days ago from the Sue Ryder Hospice they informed me that a donation from the Waltham St Lawrence Charities had been received in memory of my Jenny. Along with my private donation and from donations made by colleagues in BA and other people in the village I trust the Hospice will go from strength to strength.
What wonderful people there are out there. Thank you all.
